Three hours before the Plain White T's took the stage at Centennial Hall last night, the Arizona Daily Wildcat sat down with frontman Tom Higgenson. The vocalist discussed the T's hit song, "Hey There Delilah," what he does on his days off and what he thinks of the UA.

Plain White T's will be touring the US extensively from now until the end of the year, but in early 2008 the band will head to the UK for brand new live shows.

The group played "It's Our Time Now" to kick off ASUA's second sponsored concert of the semester last night in front of an estimated 1,500 at Centennial Hall, saving its hit, "Hey There Delilah," for performance's end.

The Plain White T's looked terrific and sounded even better during their performance at Legends Friday. The only thing lacking, unfortunately, was the audience.

'Hey There Delilah' is a perfect single, acoustic, yet not as twee as the likes of James Blunt and Morrison. The one thing that this band has a knack for is beautiful melodies, which lift an ordinary song to new heights.

For almost a decade, the Plain White T's have been playing that perfect pop-punk punch to packed audiences in the USA.

Plain White T's is the latest band signed to Fearless Records. Their debut album "Stop" came out just a few days ago, and we got the chance to talk to Tom, who told us more about this band, their goals, musical tastes and projects.

A week after scoring the first No. 1 hit for Hollywood Records, Plain White T's remain at the summit of the Billboard Hot 100 with "Hey There Delilah." Still in hot pursuit is Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry" which inches up to a new peak with a 3-2 increase. Rihanna's former No. 1, "Umbrella" featuring Jay-Z, falls 2-3.

Plain White T's earn their first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 as "Hey There Delilah" continues its staircase climb, stepping from No. 2. The song has progressed one place each week since it leaped 16-6 in the June 23 issue.
